Entrepreneurship, meeting each other and listening to music; it was all part of I Bridge You. Across a pedestrian bridge between shopping centre Zuidplein and the Motorstraat area a new, eight metre tall ‘living’ bridge was constructed. On this bridge, designed with a very open nature, young people presented their ideas about entrepreneurship to each other and to all Zuidplein visitors. For three days, I Bridge You was the stage for presentations and exhibitions; a meeting place and studio to develop public space, created for and by young people. For example, it featured an office, a terrace, a stage and retail units managed by young citizens of Rotterdam.
Incorporating ideas of young people, I Bridge You was designed and created by visual artist Chantal van Heeswijk and by Observatorium, a foundation for sculpture, design, innovation and networking for public space and public interest.
